Organic Bib & Burp Cloth ~ Review

My Little Love Heart is a handmade baby accessory shop owned by Luisa Figueroa. Luisa got in touch with me a little while ago and asked if she could gift me some of her products in exchange for an honest review. Being a mum to one child with another on the way, I was all too happy to help.

After looking through the My Little Love Heart website, where Luisa had asked me to pick a couple of items to try, I was immediately impressed with the beautiful designs and the handmade, eco-friendly nature of Luisa’s shop.

A little about Luisa

Luisa Figueroa, originally from Colombia, South America, has a passion for fashion. After gaining a significant client portfolio making wedding and cocktail dresses, she then went on to study fashion marketing in France. Later she found herself in Perth Australia where she continued her studies but this time in interior design.

Perth is where she settled and started a family. It was when her little girl came along and Luisa had the experience of dealing with reflux and going through many bibs and burp cloths, that she decided to design and make stylish and absorbent bibs and burp cloths of her own.

And thus My Little Love Heart was born.

About the My Little Love Heart shop

If you head over to Luisa’s shop, you will find she does many beautiful items, not just burp cloths and bibs. Some of her other products, all of which are made from organic material, are sweet headbands, teething rings, and even organic dummies.

If you’re looking for a beautiful gift for family and friends you can opt for one of Luisa’s baby gift sets which come in a huge range of designs.

My thoughts on the Burp Cloth & Bib

Out of all of the stunning items available, one particular design stood out to me, which was a Koala Print. So I decided to choose this print for a Bib and Burb Cloth.

The items are made from 100% organic cotton & bamboo. The most absorbent side is made from terry cotton making it really soft and perfect for soaking up large amounts of sick. While the patterned side is made from bamboo and firmer, acting as a backing to the absorbent side.

Obviously, I haven’t been able to test the absorbency as my little man isn’t here yet. But the quality is clear to see and I can’t wait to be able to use them.

The stitching is of great quality and seamless, which no loose threads or pulls. The labels are positioned well, small, and out of the way.

Each item comes with a handy eco-friendly tag that explains what it’s made from and provides washing instructions. You’ll be glad to hear is pretty standard – warm wash at 40°.

My final point is on how the bib is fastened – I love that it has poppers and not velcro. I’ve had many velcro bibs in the past and found that after a while the velcro stops sticking, making them much more easily removed by little fingers – not something you want while feeding the little ones. There are also two popper places, so you can make the bib smaller or a little bigger as required.

I thought the packaging deserved a mention and a heading of its own. Luisa really does package her items in such a beautiful way. And like the items themselves, her packaging is completely eco-friendly.

I was so excited when my package arrived in the post. It was made even more special when I opened it to a lovely little parcel that included a thank you card from Luisa. The items carefully folded inside, then wrapped in brown paper and tied with a bow made from what appears to be jute twine.

If you’re in the UK like me then delivery may take a little longer as Luisa is based in Australia and hand makes her items. That being said, from the day Luisa told me she posted the items, delivery was extremely quick. Much quicker than I expected.

Overall thoughts

I’m sure you can tell from the above that I absolutely love, not only the burp cloth and bib I received but also the My Little Love Heart shop too.

I love that Luisa has not decided to produce and sell hundreds of different products but instead offers a smaller number of more niche items, therefore maintaining the handmade, eco-friendly, and great quality aspects of her shop. This also allows her to add those extra special touches, like the thank you card and beautiful packaging, which really do make a huge difference to the customer’s experience.

Overall, you can really feel and see the care and attention Luisa puts into producing and delivering her items to her customers. To me, everything about this shop, from the packaging to the items themselves, all screams quality.

Thanks again to Luisa for gifting me these beautiful items for this review. It was an absolute pleasure.

The koala print really is eye-catching! I have thing for organic and cotton and love that these are handmade using such quality ingredients. The teething rings and burp clothes look especially useful, and the beauty of each item makes it perfect for a gift too.
    Thanks for sharing!

They really are beautiful. I couldn’t resist the koala 😄 I can’t wait to put them to use with my little boy in a few weeks.
