About me and One Clueless Mum – My partner and I have been together for around 12 years now. I say ‘partner’ through gritted teeth. Yep, I’m still awaiting THE proposal. He’s waiting for the perfect time and I’m waiting for pigs to fly (not that I’m bitter or anything).
We share our lives with, quite a lot of people actually. To the world we’re a family of six with a toddler, a teen (that’s not ours biologically but 100% ours regardless), a Mr O (significant other), a very strange dog that acts more like a cat then a dog, a cat that pretty much rules the roost and made the dog think he’s a cat.
To us our family extends beyond the conventional dynamics. We have many what i call, our waifs and strays (don’t worry, they wouldn’t mind me calling them that). Each and everyone have come into our lives at different times and in different ways. Over the last 12 years we’ve built such great friendships with these people that we see them as family. All of which bring with them their own set of circumstances and unique personalities (some more ‘unique’ then others).
And then there’s me…
I spend my days, trying in vain to look after this family as best I can. Cooking, Cleaning, drinking copious amounts of Coffee. I’m as far from a Domestic Goddess as you can get and occasionally extremely hormonal (hence my nickname being – Dragon).
I’m a partner in a business that allows me to work part time and from home. And now, I’m a novice blogger.
My Reason for Blogging
During our journey to becoming a family, I did a lot of research and read a lot of blogs, all of which being invaluable to helping me through the hard times of TTC (trying to conceive) and continue to do so through the craziness of Motherhood, of which I’m pretty clueless.
Even more so now I’m dealing with a mostly irate, tantrum throwing, independent, sometimes loving (rarely) toddler and an extremely bright but sometimes too grown up for her own good and sometimes rebellious teenager who’s trying to find her own identity.
I find I google a lot of stuff like… ‘what to do if my child ate a woodlouse?’ and ‘why does my child hate me?’.
On a serious note…
This blog is intended to be an honest and real account of my feelings and experience of motherhood.
I hope by reading it, it helps you in some way as other blogs have helped me. And if nothing else, makes you realise that there are people in the world who are more clueless than you (like me!).
Word of warning…
I intend to write as I think so you may come across the odd ‘F’ word along with a few others. I do apologise. Sometimes swearing is the only way to get through the day. That and Coffee.
